Once you have explored the example and are ready to start developing your own application, follow these steps to set up your own project.

  1. Create a new project and copy Muse.framework to the project directory

    Create a new iOS project. Then locate the Muse.framework file in the installation folder of LibMuse. Copy that file to the project folder of your new project.

  2. Add “Muse.framework” to the “Link Binary With Libraries” build phase

    In the “Build Phases” setting of your project, expand the “Link Binary With Libraries” section. Drag Muse.framework from the Finder window to the “Link Binary With Libraries” section and drop it on the section.

  3. Add “libc++.tbd” to the “Link Binary With Libraries” build phase

    Click on the “+” icon of the “Link Binary With Libraries” section. Search for “libc++.tbd” and add it to the project.

  4. Disable Bitcode from the project settings

    Muse.framework does not currently support bitcode. In the “Build Settings” search for “bitcode” and change the “Enable Bitcode” option to “No”.

  5. Add your team profile to the “Signing” section if you will be testing on iOS 10 or higher

    iOS 10 requires that an application be signed before it is deployed to an iOS device. In the “General” settings, select your team from the drop down in the “Signing” section.

  6. Add “com.interaxon.muse” as a supported external accessory protocol in the Info.plist file.

    Open the Info.plist file. Click on the “+” icon and add “Supported external accessory protocol”. Expand the “Supported external accessory protocol” and add “com.interaxon.muse” as Item 0. This protocol is required to communicate with the Muse headband.

  7. Import the Muse header file to your source code as required
